Oceanus launched the Electric Vehicle Information Exchange (EVIX) in 2011 to help automotive manufacturers, utilities, governments and charger installers securely share information and plan for grid reliability.

An Electric Vehicle (EV) can pull as much electricity as an entire house. In one study, 67% of the residential transformers tested were overloaded when one EV was plugged in during peak load. With a national goal of 1 million EVs on the road by 2015 and 12 manufacturers launching EVs by 2012, the 3400 US utilities as well as state and local governments need to know where these EV buyers are going to plug in order to secure the grid.
