Chris Taylor
Founder | President and CEO
Chris founded Oceanus in 2005 and holds the roles of President and Chief Executive Officer. Chris brings a diverse background to Oceanus with 18 years in technology, 15 years in automotive, and various early stage venture experience.
Prior to founding Oceanus, Chris held the position of West Coast Automotive Partner at Trilogy, an enterprise software and services company selling into the Global 1000.
Chris was also on the management teams of various start-up ventures. He was an entrepreneur in residence at Brighthouse, led strategy and industry relations at carOrder.com, a 300 person operation selling over 2,000 cars a month over the Internet at its peak.
Chris also held VP of Sales and COO positions at startups in the media and retail industries.
Chris graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Carnegie Mellon University with degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Psychology.
Mike DeBonis
Vice President of Product Strategy and Operations
Mike brings a wealth of product strategy and operations knowledge to the Oceanus team from his 18 years of experience managing the design, development, and deployment of complex, mission critical systems for Fortune 500 customers. His last 11 years have been passionately devoted to delivering innovative solutions for the automotive industry.
Prior to Oceanus, Mike led product strategy and business development for OEM Programs at eBay Motors. During that time, he developed and launched several New and Certified Pre-owned vehicle marketing solutions for manufacturers such as GM, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Lexus, Mercedes, and Audi. Prior to eBay, Mike served as a Program Director in the Automotive Business Unit at Trilogy where he oversaw client services for several accounts including Ford, FordDirect, Lincoln, Mercury, Nissan, and Infiniti. Mike began his career as a software engineer working across diverse industries such as telecommunications, aerospace, and medical technology.
Elizabeth Schwartz
Vice President of Analytics
Elizabeth joined Oceanus with deep industry expertise from over a decade of experience at the nexus of software and automotive marketing technology.
Elizabeth was technical lead on some of the automotive industry's first configuration and build-to-order websites, and her pioneering work applying consumer behavioral analysis to demand forecasting led to over $100M in customer ROI. Elizabeth has consulted extensively with automotive manufacturers to improve demand management and distribution processes and has also led corporate transformations toward data-driven decisioning and agile methodology from senior management positions in financial services and enterprise software.
Elizabeth graduated with degree in Computer Science from Harvard University.
Teri Edson Taylor
Founder | Vice President of Personnel
Teri co-founded Oceanus and runs personnel as well as leads our product research group. Teri brings a background of automotive product planning, research and quality design, as well as consumer product marketing and advertising. But most importantly, Teri is the biggest car enthusiast of the Oceanus team.
Prior to Oceanus, Teri managed design requirements and consumer focus groups within a global cross-carline team at Nissan after spending many years in the Nissan North America Product Planning department.
Teri graduated from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Psychology.
